I can’t believe I paid $.99 for this app! What a great job and an interesting idea for my MAC wallpaper. Many thanks!!
Do not pass on this one. I am always on the look out for cool screen savers and this is one of the best, not to mention it’s only $.99.
Needs more improvement in the detail section, maybe be a little more like google earth. Make it worth the money. Looks great tho.
This app is one of the best apps for the money, worth more then they’re asking in my opinion and is one of the few apps i enjoy daily.
This is, so far, the worst app I have ever purchased. It doesn’t work, hangs up the system, is not responsive, has ads upon ads, and, yes, I am up to date on the OS system. Very complicated and touchy. Refund please!
Do the loved ones in your life a favor & recommend this app to them. Simply a fantastic educational tool for young & old alike. Put it on a 27” iMac & you’ll be amazed. Thank you 3Planesoft
Pros: Fantastic Graphics - looks stunning on double monitors Great addition is the star field and moving objects like planes and ships. Outstanding screen saver mode with music Put it on your large Flat screen TV is awesome! Cons: On my 2.4Ghz Core 2 duo MacBook Pro it is a CPU hog. CPU meter show 5x CPU usage, Temps go from 117 to 220F. Hot enough to burn your lap. Don’t use on battery - drains it fast. Wish List: Superimposed Realtime cloud map (Like OSX Planet) Superimposed new Earthquake epicenters Swich to turn on true sun light-Day and dark night areas.
I make YouTube videos as a hobby and I needed something eye catching to play in my backgroud. Earth 3D is perfect for the job. It is visually amazing! I get so many inquires regarding my desktop background that I had to leave a link for it in my information section. Worth the buck they’re asking for and much more.
I love this app!!!! I purchased every add-on possible. I would be willing to pay $$$ to see additional places on the map.
I find it hard to go back to work. I want to stare at this and watch it go all the way around...
Each update, each version gets better and better. The maps are absolutely riveting. It is really great fun to see the world from different angles - quitre challenging sometimes to work out where in the world we are flying over.
I tried using this for screensaver - what a bummer! Not only did it hog my CPU, it has its own unlock screen and conflicts with native screensaver (how come they can’t just make it native, I don’t know). When trying to change settings, it froze. Then, on restart, it started messing with the whole system. Forget it. Not worth it.
Earth 3D is a great addition to any mac where you need a motivator to keep a clean desktop so you can watch the earth revolve before your very eyes. I’ve learned so much more about the world’s geography with this app. Graphics look like a Sid Meir Game Map. The city icons are cute, but I wish you could toggle specific ones on and off. Maybe allow folks to build city models you can download for your favorite hometown. I ended up buying the weather pak $2.99 which was marginally helpful. It adds cloud and moon icons along with the current temp. The political map pak purchase was great $1.99. It makes the world look like a wall map with brightly colored countries. I didn’t go for the $3.99 photos and info pak because it would be easy to just use the web for this level of info. I would love to see an option for a true view of the world as high res retina satellite imagery with real cloud cover and daylight/darkness added. I was kind of hoping that this app would also show up in System Preferences > Desktops & Screensavers rather than being its own standalone app only thing.
I’ve had this program for about two weeks. It’s wonderful. Quickly, I’m learning the geography of the planet. Something I’ve always wanted to do. This program makes it fun. I also purchased the interactive program, so whenever I want to know more, I switch to that.
Its a stunningly beautiful ….
You can read about the positive aspects of this app from the other reviewers- i bought this to span dual monitors as a desktop image- there was a mention of it seeming like looking outside a window of a spacecraft orbiting the earth- So yeah- it was pretty nice, …then the space ship crashes, the earth disappaers and goes back to the grey screen color i have set for the native desktop- The crashing happens enough to be awfully frustrating, since it’s so nice while viewing- having the feeling as though flying high- So back to the grey screen and forget about it...
This is a great app. I purchased the Windows and Mac versions. My son likes it too.
I stopped going app crazy a while ago but I gotta say, looking at it in my macbook take my breathe away sometimes. Its just beautlful thing to look at. My 3 year old comes up and just stairs at it as well. Yo Im regular dude from around the way. Im telling you its the best background I ever had. The fact that it rotates makes it that much better.
This app is excellent. You can put it in screensaver mode and just watch as you gently fly around the earth. You can also put it in interactive mode and fly around the entire earth yourself. You can even make it your actual desktop (camera still hovers around the world). The new sun lighting looks so cool. The added day and night modes make the earth really come alive. There’s just so much more info now like water currents, more geographic locations, new attractions, and photos. You can buy extra weather functionality and overlays like the political map. The starry sky is even real. And like all 3Planesoft apps it looks amazing spanning across my three displays. Thanks for the awesome update! A+
